Build a regional coalition—and make your demands visible.

The movement to Make Big Polluters Pay is growing every day, as more and more people and organizations join the call. We’re stronger when we speak with one voice—and decision-makers and Big Polluters take notice. That’s why a group of civil society organizations in Africa have come together to issue a joint letter to African decision-makers calling to Make Big Polluters Pay. This letter is a powerful tool for meeting with and persuading decision-makers to take action to hold polluters liable—and for building pressure directly on polluting industries.

Organizations across Africa launched this letter with a press conference, and are using it to hold meetings with decision-makers across the continent demanding they Make Big Polluters Pay. Check out the letter and consider how you could implement similar tactics in your region.

Note: This letter was written by Africa-based organizers for Africa-based decision-makers, but organizations in other regions may want to create a similar joint letter and organize similar tactics. Free to use and adapt the letter for your region.
